About the Artist: Hans Ripa (1912–2001) was a Swedish artist and theater decorator renowned for his landscapes, still lifes, and flower compositions. Born on September 14, 1912, in Hoor, southern Sweden, Ripa studied at Skånska Målarskolan in Malmö (1928–1929) and furthered his education at Maison Watteau and Académie Colarossi in Paris, as well as the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His travels across Germany, France, and Southern Europe enriched his quick, sketch-like style, characterized by a light and harmonious color palette. Active as a theater painter in Stockholm and Malmö during the 1940s, Ripa exhibited internationally in Paris, New York, and Stockholm. His works, including landscapes from the Torekov area and floral still lifes, are held in several Swedish museum collections, earning him recognition among collectors of Nordic art.

This piece is in very good condition, consistent with its vintage age. All artwork is sold as found, and we carefully photograph and highlight any notable signs of age.
