This painting features a vibrant bouquet of flowers arranged in a vase, showcasing a bold and expressive style. The blooms, in striking shades of red, yellow, and white, stand out against a dark, textured background of deep greens and blues. The artist uses thick, dynamic brushstrokes to create a sense of movement and energy, with the flowers’ forms blending into the abstract backdrop. The vase, painted in muted tones, anchors the composition on a subtle surface.

Sven (Svän) Fritiov Teodor Grandin (1906–1982) was a Swedish artist born in Borås. Before dedicating himself to art, Grandin worked as a textile worker and sailor, experiences that likely influenced his later artistic themes and perspectives. He was largely self-taught, honing his skills during study trips to Paris in 1938, 1939, and 1946, where he was exposed to the vibrant art scenes of the time.

Artist: Svan Grandin

Measures 16.5” X 21.5”

This piece is in very good condition, consistent with its vintage age, with no obvious signs of wear.

All artwork is sold as found, and we always carefully photograph and highlight any notable signs of age.
