About the Artist: Thomander was born in Brännkyrka Stockholm. Thomander graduated from Karolinska University and in 1933 began as a student at Viktor Lindblad's studio for flags and standards in Örebro. He also studied at Harald Ericson's painting school in Örebro and under Isaac Grünewald at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm from 1938–1943 and during study trips to France, Spain and Yugoslavia. Separately, he exhibited several times at Vallin's art store in Örebro and he participated a few times in the Swedish General Art Association's salons in Stockholm as well as exhibitions arranged by the Örebro County Art Association and several exhibitions of provincial art in Örebro. Among his public works were decorations at the former Life Regiment Grenadiers I 3 in Örebro. His art consists of still lifes , Spanish coastal pictures, northern landscape pictures and cityscapes from Örebro. Thomander is represented at Örebro County Museum .
