Modern Florals
Modern Florals
Artist: Gunnar Janser (1919-1989)
Medium: Oil on Panel
Dimensions: 28” x 23”
This remarkable still-life composition features a modern bouquet of flowers arranged in a simple white cylindrical vase, positioned on a light-colored table surface.
The background transitions from a soft pale blue on the left to a warm yellow on the right, creating a diagonal divide that adds depth and light to the scene. There's a subtle shadow cast by the vase on the table, enhancing the sense of three-dimensionality. The style appears impressionistic or post-impressionistic, with loose, visible brushstrokes, muted tones in the background, and vibrant yet blended colors in the flowers. The painting is framed in a classic gold frame, which complements its traditional subject matter.
