Born on August 26, 1903, in Gävle, Söderberg studied under Professor Hermann Grom-Rottmayer in Vienna (1922–1925), traveling extensively in Germany and Austria before returning to Sweden. He debuted in Gävle in 1926 and gained critical acclaim in 1939 at the Konstakademien in Stockholm. Active as a central figure in the Gästrikland artist colony alongside Fritz Smedberg and Alf Sundström, Söderberg exhibited widely in Norrköping, Gothenburg, and Gävle, often exploring themes of light and nature in oil and prints. His works are cherished for bridging traditional and modern Swedish imagery, appealing to collectors of mid-20th-century Nordic art.
